SOLENT MALE VOICE CHOIR TO SING AT WATERLOOVILLE MUSIC FESTIVAL
The ever
popular Solent Male
Voice Choir (SMVC)
have been chosen,
along with the Cascades Chorus, a ladies barber shop choir,
to sing at the Waterlooville Music Festival on Thursday 12th
June at 7.30pm.
Dave McVittie, Chairman at SMVC, said “We
love singing at St Georges and to be invited
to sing at the
Festival this year
is both exciting
and an honour.
The audience will certainly
be well entertained
at the Festival
by two very
different choirs.”
SMVC will be singing the first half of
the concert. There will be a mixture of
traditional male voice
music, including songs
in Welsh and
hymns, and some newer music which
has been arranged by their MD Huw Thomas.
Since they last
sung in St
Georges the SMVC has
grown to over
thirty singing members drawn from as far east
as Bognor and as far West as Fareham.
Future events
include singing at
the Stansted Summer
Festival in June and
welcoming the Treharris Male Voice Choir from Wales in
November.
