Wednesday 16th June Fairport Convention a WemsFest production at Emsworth Baptist Church 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm Street Fairport Convention has been entertaining music lovers for over half a century. During that time the band that launched British folk-rock has seen many changes. But one thing has remained the same - Fairport’s passion for performance. This year’s Spring Tour concert will present a mix of long-established Fairport favourites and some surprises from albums old and new including Full House, which was released 50 years ago this year. Monday 5th July  Damien O’Kane & Ron Block a WemsFest production at Chidham Village Hall, Main Road 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm A welcome return to Chidham Village Hall for US banjo maestro Ron Block, this time in the company of Irish multi-instrumentalist Damien O'Kane. Together they recorded the excellent 2018 release 'Banjophony' and only their respective touring and recording commitments have kept them apart since then. Wednesday 20th October Portsdown Hill: A Stroll Through Time An Emsworth Maritime & Historical Trust talk by Nigel Gossop in the Mountford Rooms 1 and 2 of the Emsworth Community Centrestarting at 7.30pm. Doors open at 7.00pm. Using photographs and images, Nigel describes the history and stories of some of the places that can be seen on the route of this virtual circular walk. The area covered includes tea gardens, military influences, prefabs, fairs and camp sites. Over the years the familiar hill that dominates the Portsmouth skyline has seen many changes.
