Help save our Emsworth hospital site – public meeting
on August 22nd

Emsworth Victoria Cottage Hospital, the vandalised empty building opposite the new Baptist Church,  suddenly went up for sale on July 25 2018 by the property arm of the NHS. As the building was originally given by the people of Emsworth to the NHS the popular view is that it should be given back to the community so that it can be at least part used for community use

This centrally located, iconic site could be redeveloped by a local trust, to provide additional community facilities as well as affordable new homes.  The first public meeting will take place in the Baptist church on Wednesday August 22 at 6.30pm

A campaign – EMSWORTH UNITED - has been launched today to support the redevelopment of the hospital site by the Emsworth Community Land Trust who will work with the local community to decide the exact use of the site. The NHS could gift this site to the people of Emsworth once they establish that it will be used for local benefit. Will you join the campaign EMSWORTH UNITED to help influence the NHS decision

Elsewhere in the UK (Lyndhurst and Southwold) NHS buildings have been returned to the community, at no, or low, cost, provided that a local group takes on responsibility for developing and running them. Let’s get Emsworth people working together to achieve something similar. The first step is to have a public information meeting and question NHS Property Company on their strategy.  Please come along on Wednesday August 22 2018 at 6.30pm
