Chichester Harbour Events - March 2017

Beginners welcome at every event - get out walking or try a new skill



Wed  1 Mar, 10am - 1pm
Beginners’ Harbour Art Classes (6 weeks) – Just two places remaining!

Meet weekly for an art class inspired by Chichester Harbour and using a variety of media. With professional artist and teacher Fran Davies. Basic materials supplied  but you might like to bring your own.
Fee: £60 for 6 sessions, advance booking is essential.
Meet:  The Stables, Eames Farm, Thorney Road, Thorney Island, PO10 8DE. Roadside parking.

Sun 12 Mar, 10am - 3pm
Print-making for Beginners

Be inspired by the Harbour view, learn about the techniques for print  making  and have a go at making  your own artworks. All materials supplied  but bring an apron,  refreshments provided. With artist and teacher, Fran Davies.
Fee: £10 per person, advance booking is essential.
Meet:  Harbour Education Centre and the Quay, Dell Quay, PO20 7EE. Roadside parking.


Walks and Talks

Fri 3 Mar, 10am - 12pm
Harbour Creekies: Experience a School-type Field Trip

Have fun with  the Creekies’ leader and have a go at some of the activities that  children  do on a school field trip. Don’t worry - gymnastics are not part of today’s curriculum. Refreshments provided.

Sat 18 Mar, 10am - 2pm
Harbour Hares: Venturing out of the AONB

Features: Meet for a coffee at 10am and then at 10.30 we will travel by minibus to the Ferry Point in Langstone  Harbour before walking 41/2 miles back to Sandy Point along  the sea front.

Meet:  Upstairs at the Lifeboat Station, Bracklesham Road, Hayling Island, PO11 9SJ. Free parking by kind permission of RNLI.

Sun 19 Mar, 10am - 12pm
Try Nordic Walking

Get your walking poles out and learn to walk the Nordic Walking way with  a qualified instructor.
Fee: £5 per person on the day.
Meet:  Outside the Harbour Office, Itchenor, PO20 7AW. Roadside parking or pay and display car park



Sat 25 Mar, 1pm - 2.30pm
Birdwatching Walk from Emsworth

A stroll along the shoreline taking time to look for and identify the Harbour birds. Bring binoculars. No dogs please.
Fee: £5 per person on the day.
Meet:  End of Warblington Road, Emsworth, PO10 7HG. Roadside parking.


Solar Heritage

Solar Heritage is a 14 metre,  solar powered catamaran licensed for public boat trips. She can carry up to 50 passengers. The boat is open-sided for unimpeded views so warm clothing and wet weather gear is advised. There is a toilet onboard and the boat is fitted with an access lift.

Trips depart from Itchenor from October to May and from Emsworth from June to September inclusive.
