Chichester Harbour Events - April 2017


Family Event

Mon 10 April 12 noon 1 ½ hours
Duck Race

Features: We provide your ducks which you take home afterwards.  Decorate them and then take part in the duck race held down the stream in Fishbourne Meadows.  Prizes for the winners.  Bring a picnic lunch.
Fee: £3 per duck to include a special racing duck, decorating and race entry.  Advance booking is essential on  01243 513275.
Meet: Fishbourne Church Hall, St Peter and St Mary’s Church, Fishbourne, PO19 3XT, free parking.

Fri 7 April 10am (2 hrs)
Harbour Creekies:  North Common, Hayling Island

Features: A stroll of 1 ½ miles around North Common to look at the wildlife and enjoy the view to the Harbour, followed by refreshments at Northney Farm.
Fee: £5 on the day (free to Friends of Chichester Harbour - to join click here).
Meet: North Common free car park, Northney, Hayling Island, PO11 0ND and afterwards at Northney Farm Cafe

Sat 15 April 10am 4 hours
Harbour Hares: Langstone and Emsworth

Features: A 10km (6 miles) walk of Langstone and Emsworth along shoreline and through farmland.  Time planned in to enjoy the facilities in Emsworth before the walk back.
Fee: £5 on the day (Friends of Chichester Harbour free - to join click here) plus bring coffee money for the stop in Emsworth
Meet:  Free Public Car Park between The Ship pub and Hayling Bridge, Langstone, PO9 1RD

Thur 20 April 5pm 1 ½ hrs
Nordic Walking

Features:  bring your walking poles (Nordic or general walking ones) and walk the Nordic Walking way for fitness.  With Judi Darley, qualified instructor. 
Fee: £5 on the day
Meet: Outside the Harbour Office, Itchenor, PO20 7AW. Parking in pay and display car park.


Bird Song

Sat 29 April 7.30am 1 ½ hrs
Bird Song

Features: A stroll by shoreline scrub and hedgerows, listening out for and learning the bird songs.
With John Arnott.  No dogs please.
Fee: £5 on the day

Boat Trips

Solar Heritage

Solar Heritage is a 14-metre solar powered catamaran. She can carry up to 50 passengers. The boat is open-sided for unimpeded views so warm clothing and wet weather gear is advised. There is a toilet onboard and the boat is fitted with a wheelchair lift.

Come onboard our solar-powered boat to enjoy views of Chichester Harbour Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With general commentary.
Tickets: £8.50 adult / £3.50 child up to 16 years

Please wait on the viewing platform in front of the Harbour Office 15 minutes before departure time and the crew will collect you. Please park in the pay and display car park PO20 7AE.
